It boasts excellent plasticizing flame retardant properties, oil resistance, electrical insulation, and ease of processing. While insoluble in water, it dissolves effortlessly in benzene, alcohol, ether, vegetable oil, mineral oil, and other organic solvents. As a significant plasticizer for vinyl resin and nitrocellulose, it enhances paint film flexibility and exhibits exceptional compatibility with synthetic rubber, PVC, polyester, polyolefin, and soft polyurethane foam plastics. Additionally, it can be used as a flame retardant in electronic potting glue for polyurethane, endowing high polymers with superior abrasion resistance, weatherability, mildew resistance, radiation resistance, and electrical properties.
