While insoluble in water, it effortlessly dissolves in benzene, alcohol, ether, vegetable oil, mineral oil, and various organic solvents. As a pivotal component of vinyl resin and nitrocellulose plasticizers, it enhances the flexibility of paint films. Its excellent miscibility makes it ideal for synthetic rubber, PVC, polyester, polyolefin, and soft polyurethane foam plastics flame retardants.
